First order in Italy marks dLab’s international progress

We are excited to announce that dLab has secured its first order in Italy, marking an important milestone in our efforts to expand into this new market.

The order covers one of the customer’s 20 primary substations. Even more promising, the customer has expressed a clear ambition to implement our Intelligent Platform across all 20 of their substations in the future.

“It feels great that our efforts in the Italian market have started to deliver results in such a short time. Our presence in Italy began just over a year ago, and while the value of this initial order is relatively small, it’s very encouraging that the customer is already expressing a clear intention to implement our solution across all their 20 substations. With this first customer in place, we feel significantly strengthened in our continued market efforts.” says Rickard Jacobson, CEO of dLab.

With similarities to Sweden’s power grid, Italy also benefits from high delivery reliability and comparable grid characteristics. The Italian market is served by about 130 Distribution System Operators (DSOs), with the three largest covering 90% of the market.

Italy has committed over €3 billion to smart grid initiatives by 2026, focusing on enhancing delivery reliability across its 4,000 km electricity infrastructure. This commitment makes Italy an exciting market for innovative grid solutions like dLab’s.
