dLab and Techinova combine their offerings for the power grid
dLab has now completed the acquisition of Techinova AB. Through this combination, two complementary companies are joining forces with a shared ambition: to make power grids around the world safer and more predictable – for a society that never stops.
From left: Peter Fransson, One of the founders of Techinova; Tove Janzon, Chair of the Board of dLab; Rickard Jacobson, CEO of dLab; and Marianne Ivarsson, CEO of Techinova.
The acquisition marks an important step in dLab’s continued development. It brings together dLab’s expertise in power grid analysis and digitalization with Techinova’s experience in communication, RTUs, SCADA and automation.
Together, we can now take a broader approach to the distribution grid, from primary substations to end customers. By turning data into insight and insight into action, we give grid operators better opportunities to act faster.
A changing power grid calls for greater connectivity
Electrification and the energy transition are changing the conditions for power grids. As grids become more complex, the need to collect and communicate data, analyse what is happening, and turn information into concrete action continues to grow.
This also places new demands on the technology that supports grid operators in their everyday work.
For dLab, the next step is therefore about bringing together more parts of the value chain. By combining data, analysis, communication and automation, we create new opportunities to digitalize the distribution grid.
dLab and Techinova have already been working together for several years. One clear example is dSense, our joint solution for fault detection and disturbance analysis in secondary substations. This collaboration has given us the opportunity to get to know one another and see how our products and expertise complement each other in practice.
“This is a major day for dLab. Techinova is a company with a great spirit of innovation and a culture that we recognise in ourselves. Our offerings complement each other very well, and together we become a larger and more complete company that can create even more value for our customers and contribute to a safer and more sustainable power grid.”
– Rickard Jacobson, VD för dLab
What does this mean for our customers?
For our customers, the combination primarily means new opportunities. With a broader, more integrated offering, we can:
Digitalize more parts of the distribution grid
Create more connected solutions for power grid owners
Continue developing solutions based on the needs of power grid companies
Create a clearer path from insight to action
The next chapter starts now
The acquisition means that Techinova is now part of the dLab Group. At the same time, we will continue developing the solutions and relationships that our customers already know and value.
The power grid is changing. So are we. För ett mer uppkopplat distributionsnät.
