New unique feature gives grid operators clear visibility of battery impact

Batteries are rapidly becoming a cornerstone of the modern energy system. They add much-needed flexibility, but also introduce new challenges for grid operators. With our new feature in dState (part of our intelligent platform alongside dAnalyzer and dQuality), operators gain a clear, real-time view of how battery installations affect grid stability – and the confidence to make well-informed decisions.

Data-driven decision support

Using high-resolution measurements and advanced analytics, grid operators can now:

  • Evaluate new battery connection requests
  • Receive early warnings of rapid shifts in power flows
  • Ensure installations comply with agreed technical parameters
  • Plan and optimise flexibility strategies
  • Strengthen planning, operations, and capacity management

Developed in close dialogue with grid operators

We know that many grid companies have been cautious about batteries because their impact on the grid has been uncertain. This new feature removes that uncertainty – giving operators the clarity they need to act with confidence.

– It started with concrete needs from our customers and has resulted in a solution that captures both quick variations and long-term patterns. This is the result of strong teamwork and the courage to think differently, says Kewin Erichsen, Head of Development at dLab.

This launch marks an important step in giving grid operators better tools to meet the challenges of electrification and the energy transition. Our goal is simple: to make the complex manageable – and, together with our customers, enable a more resilient and sustainable power system.
