dLab participates in a European digital transformation project for a more resilient energy system
Dlaboratory Sweden AB (publ) participates in a European multinational development program with the overall aim of developing resilient solutions for the energy system of tomorrow that are both robust and flexible and contribute to a green transition.
The solutions developed within the program will be validated and evaluated in the lab and in the field. Proposed solutions are expected to:
- reduce the vulnerability of the energy system
- be cost-effective
- reduce the total downtime per customer and year by up to one fourth
The ambition for the incident and anomaly detection system is to propose and execute measures to restore a system to a normal state by utilizing methods of consolidating sensor data and resilient strategies based on AI analysis.
- It is a strong recognition of our capabilities and our platform to be a selected industrial partner in this European project aiming to support the energy transition through the use of high-quality data and AI. I am really looking forward to cooperating with the partners in the project and together with them further develop grid resilience, both in terms of electrical disturbances and cyber threats, says Fredrik Akke, CTO at dLab.
From the Swedish side, the project will be managed by the Swedish Energy Agency and dLab participates as an industrial partner to the Swedish KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Other participants include Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), Wiener Netze, Fraunhofer ISE, OFFIS, and Solandeo GmbH.
Part of the project is an installation of dLab’s solution in the Austrian utilities company Wiener Netze’s power grid to study improved resilience possibilities.
- I am pleased to see that the importance of managing disturbances effectively in the power grid is becoming recognized as one of the central challenges, something that is in-line with our beliefs and our message. This program is one of many important steps for us to enter the European market, and through the collaboration we will have both increased visibility in Central Europe, and a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the strength of our platform and its uniqueness, says Henrik Winberg, COO dLab.
